ReMix Science and Care Celebrates One Year of Purpose, Progress, and Community Impact

The Pittsburgh-based nonprofit marks its first anniversary by reflecting on organizational milestones and preparing to expand its impact through direct student support.

PITTSBURGH, PA | August 29, 2026 — ReMix Science and Care (RMSC) celebrates its first anniversary, marking one year since its founding on August 29, 2025.

Established to address financial and systemic barriers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), and healthcare education, ReMix has spent its inaugural year building the foundation for programs that support students and aspiring professionals from historically underrepresented and underserved communities.

From Vision to Action

Founded by Skye Clayton in honor of her late partner, Ryan M. Brody, ReMix Science and Care was created with a commitment to service, educational equity, and community care.

The organization recognizes that talent and ambition exist in every community, but access to financial resources, mentorship, and professional opportunities is not equally distributed.

Throughout its first year, ReMix focused on developing the leadership, operational infrastructure, and community relationships necessary to turn its mission into sustainable programming.

Celebrating a Year of Milestones

Among the organization's most significant accomplishments was receiving a $15,000 RISE HIGH Grant from Neighborhood Allies in July 2026, providing critical support for the development of its inaugural microgrant program.

ReMix also introduced its Community Impact Partner Initiative, creating opportunities for businesses and organizations to invest in educational equity and support future STEM and healthcare professionals.

Additional progress included developing mentorship programming, establishing systems for direct financial assistance, and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders and educational institutions.

These milestones reflect the dedication of ReMix's Board of Directors, supporters, and partners who have contributed to the organization's growth.

Looking Ahead

As ReMix enters its second year, the organization is preparing to launch its inaugural microgrant program, providing financial assistance to eligible students and early-career professionals throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area.

ReMix also plans to continue developing its mentorship initiatives, expanding community relationships, and creating additional opportunities for students pursuing STEM and healthcare pathways.

The organization's first anniversary represents both a celebration of its progress and a reminder of the work ahead.

ReMix Science and Care extends its appreciation to everyone who has supported its mission during its first year and looks forward to building on that foundation.
